Escuela de Arte de Cantabria | ESAC » Erasmus

The ESAC Roberto Orallo participates in the Erasmus+ program of the European Union, which promotes cooperation between institutions and the transnational mobility of teaching staff from the School within the framework of the KA122-VET project.

The values and challenges underpinning this project are aligned with the principles of the European New Bauhaus: “Inclusion,” which promotes the appreciation of diversity, equality, accessibility, and affordability. This approach invites us to integrate diverse communities, including rural areas, declining cities, and degraded urban zones, beyond major urban centers, always paying special attention to disadvantaged groups.

The second value, “Sustainability,” addresses climate goals, circularity, zero pollution, and biodiversity. This principle reminds us of the importance of applying sustainable and innovative solutions in our daily work in the classroom and jewelry workshop, drawing inspiration from nature and using reused or recycled materials, always prioritizing reuse and extending the lifespan of resources.

Finally, we highlight the relevance of “Aesthetics,” as well as the quality of experience and style, which go beyond functionality; this aspect is essential in our daily learning activities.

By adhering to these values, we aim to initiate a process of openness and internationalization that helps us create collaborative work networks with other similar institutions at the European level, as well as acquire specialized training tools that align with current trends in sustainable design and European innovation for our teaching staff. In this way, we will be able to provide our students with the resources and knowledge necessary to engage in professional practices, studies, or collaborative learning projects in European institutions, always with our support.

Ultimately, the goal is to benefit our educational community by improving the quality of our teaching and the opportunities for our students.
