FINAL PROJECTS HIGHER GRADE JEWELLERY
2018
RAQUEL GARCÍA · THORNS
Thorns is a collection of jewellery comprised of earrings and a pendant. Made in silver with mounted sapphires, zirconias and kyanites which resemble the shape of fish-bones.
The collection is intended to give pause and reflect on the consequences that man made pollution has caused on the oceanic ecosystems.
The designs blend the raw beauty of dead wildlife, represented by fish-bones as a symbol of the thousands of species of fish, birds and mammals that die each year as a consequence of the effects of pollution, with a stylism inspired by fine and fashion jewellery to create an appealing and modern piece of jewellery that stands out for its quality and finishes.
2017
DESIRÉ NADAL · PANCONCHOCOLATE
This project is born from the need to imbue jewellery with an added value that may contribute to society’s welfare. By means of molecular cooking, one of children’s most common dishes in every household is being represented here: chocolate with bread.
The pieces that make up the collection have been designed having in mind two basic ideas: its ergonomic features and its functionality as an eating tool. The collection has been inspired by kitchenware such as measuring spoons, skimming spoons, colanders, spoons, plates, mugs, cups, glasses and straws. The basic crafting material used has been silver since other metals like alpaca wool, brass and zamak are not recommended because of its toxicity and because, in the past, it was widely used in silverware, cutlery and cups.
2016
MIRIAM CALVO · OTRERE
This project is composed of an arch, a quiver an armband and a shot thumb ring. Silver, copper and wood have been combined with vegetable motif as a reference to modernism. Several techniques have been used: soldering, enamelling, glossing and silicone mould.
MIRIAM GONZÁLEZ · BAROQUE SCRAPS
Detachable jewel dress. This is a Baroque-style inspired piece: its shapes, ornamental motifs and over decorated style. The parts that cover the dress or the structure are made in brass with a 0’3 size sheet, ceramic and threads with different thickness, making up drawings.
Jewellery is made in string silver of 1, 2 and 4 millimetres and sheet of 0’5. In order to complement silver it has ceramic and natural stones.

ISABEL CEBALLOS · METAMORPHOSIS
Piece made of copper and resin using the technique of electroforming. It is inspired by nature, particularly on the growth cycles of cherries. They may be adapted to different forms: pendants, necklaces and bracelets
LAURA COSMEA · CORE FLASH (Destellos medulares)
Dressing back necklace, top and skirt. It is made with brass and silver using techniques such as casting or joints. It is a conceptual design which refers to the area in which associations and Rare Neuromuscular Diseases develop, as it is a piece designed with the goal of being presented in a charity parade.
TATIANA AZCONA · VARIABLE
Jewel bag made of brass, glass beads and methacrylate. In its realization the techniques which have been used are folding, granulate, inlay and riveting. It is a versatile work inspired by the elemental geometry and whose centerpiece varies adapting to the different plates bolted ornaments.
