This year, following its open-school philosophy and its goal of adding value to Arts and Design as well as enhancing their social and economic value, Escuela de Arte nº1 launches Visibilizarte as part of the activities planned for the 8th of March. The school proposes a collaborative Project which binds together several creative and didactic performances. The project aims at adding value to women’s work in Art & Design, especially in the graphic area, enhancing the relevance of design as an element to raise awareness about social problems such as gender inequality in the work environment. The Project emerges with a selection of 15 creative women: Jessica Walsh, Guerrilla Girls, Varvara Stepánova, Gunta Stölzl, Marian Bantjes, Paula Scher, Veronika Burian, Hannah Höch, Barbara Kruger, Susan Kare, Beca Classon, Louise Bourgeois, Sonia Delaunay, Louise Fili and María Blanchard. All of them have worked or are currently working in Arts and/or Design, contributing to the development of Art, Design and Culture.
